Southeast Asia - US Submarine Telecommunications Cable System Starts to Construct

This Southeast Asia- US undersea communications cable will connect Indonesia Manado, Dawa, Guam, Honolulu and Los Angeles. Among them, the Global Telecom has invested $ 80 million, with the other six international telecommunications company jointly participating in the construction, including Indonesia international telecommunications company, RAM International Telecommunications Company, Hawaii Telecom, Teleguam, US Telecom and GTI Telecom.

Global Telecom said that the total length of undersea communications cables was 15,000 kilometers, the initial design rate of 20Tbps, and the Japanese electrical company NEC was in charge of construction, which was expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of next year.

The professionals said that the construction of the undersea communications cable will help meet growing demand of broadband systems in Southeast Asia and North America, especially beneficial for the ASEAN countries. Meanwhile, the construction of an international submarine cable system will be connected to other countries in Southeast Asia, or along the way such as Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Papua New Guinea and Australia through the existing landing stations to enable more countries to benefit.
