Telefonica Announced the Deployment of the United States - Brazil New Submarine Cable

Recently, Telefonica announced that it would deploy a new submarine cable named "BRUSA", connecting to Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza San Juan Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Pinney's Beach.

This 11 000 km long submarine cable was expected to put into operation early in 2018, which would become part of Telxius recently established by Telefonica which was a global infrastructure .

Telefonica represented, BRUSA submarine cable would greatly improve the communication reliability and deliver enhanced flexibility. Submarine cable is the two largest economies in the Americas, one of the lowest redundant communication connections between the United States and Brazil, compared with the previously deployed system, it would provide greater flexibility and scalability.

Recently, in order to consolidate its infrastructure in the Americas, Telefonica went through the deployment of the Pacific Caribbean submarine cable system. In addition, the company also managed the Argentina - Uruguay Unisur submarine cable and connecting the United States, the Caribbean, Central America, South America's SAM-1 submarine cable.

Global fiber optic submarine cable network covering of Telefonica  was over 65,000 km, of which 31,000 km connecting the United States, the Americas and Europe.
