Finland - Germany Submarine Optical Cable System C-Lion1 Has Been Completed and Put into Operation

The Finnish Cinia group this week in a news release said that submarine cable system has been built which connected to the northern Germany Mecklenburg Vorpommern to Finland's capital Helsinki .

 
It was reported that the total cost of the submarine cable system was about 100 million euros, by the government of Finland, OP-Pohjola and Ilmarinen and other institutions to finance. The system consisted of 8 optical fiber cable, with a total length of 1172 km, which was responsible  by Alcatel lucent for the construction.
 
Cinia said in the announcement that the current construction of the submarine cable system has been fully completed, expected to be put into business in the spring of 2016, when the transmission capacity would reach 120Tbps. At the same time, the company also with the German data center operator Hetzner Online signed a 20 years’ service contract to use the  capacity, worth 10 million euros.
