Recently, the China State Grid put forward to $ 12 billion (about 74.5 billion yuan) investment in Nigeria's national overall power projects in the second phase of the key power transmission project.

China State Grid first proposed to invest $ 8 billion (about 49.67 billion yuan), then invested $ 4 billion (about 24.83 billion yuan), in the form of equity and loans to participate in transmission projects. These projects would be built by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company for Nigeria Transmission Company.

According to a status report of the Nigeria electric power industry, China national power grid and other partners, CET power and Westron, combined to make the above proposal.

Status report also noted that, the power transmission field was full of challenges, if the Nigerian government can cleverly solve the inherent challenges of project financing, thus China's state grid investment amount will increase to 18 billion US dollars (about 111.76 billion yuan).
